Dear H-Net Subscribers,
As you know, H-Net is an independent, non-profit scholarly association that offers an open academic space for scholars, teachers, advanced students and related professionals. Our vision is to see the humanities and social sciences transformed by the immense potential of digital technologies and oriented around moderated intellectual exchange, collaborative production, and the open dissemination of knowledge.
H-Net's work is guided and informed by our commitment to: high standards of scholarly, pedagogical and professional behavior; a pluralistic and democratic way of decision-making; and the principles of Open Access.
Over the past year, the H-Net Home Office has been working with H-Net's Executive Council to develop plans for the next iteration of our platform, the H-Net Commons. Improving User Experience is our primary objective for this necessary platform upgrade, guided first and foremost by feedback from our subscribers about what matters most to them.
Over the next 16-18 months, H-Net will be working with Drupal developers to start building what we are affectionately calling, H-Net 3.0. As you might expect, there are significant costs associated with rebuilding a web platform. This #GivingTuesday, would you consider supporting H-Net with a tax-deductible contribution?
Your generous donations are vital to supporting the services you expect from H-Net, including the H-Net Job Guide, H-Net Reviews, H-Announce, H-Net Journals, the H-Net Book Channel, and of course, the networks that make up the H-Net Commons.
Thank you for being a part of the H-Net Community and Happy Holidays!
