On the anniversary of four centuries since the founding of the Academic College of Alba Iulia by the Prince of Transylvania Gabriel Bethlen, the editorial staff of the review Annales Universitatis Apulensis. Series Historica would like to dedicate the forthcoming volume to a historical perspective on the issue of education and the forms of transmitting knowledge, starting from the traditional models to those influenced by the challenges of the present. The educational policies are targeted, the institutional forms in which the educational policies materialized, their cultural results and, last but not least, the new models influenced by the evolution of knowledge or by the decrease of the social prestige of the humanities.

The editorial board invites specialists in the field of history and the other socio-human disciplines converging on the topic to collaborate with studies, articles or reviews on this volume, starting from the topics suggested below or similar ones.


Possible Topics:

Educational policies; 

School institutions and educational models; 

School libraries;

Teachers’ training routes and forms of student mobility in the past and the present;

Education and identity projects;    

The role of social cohesion and cultural diversity in the elaboration of new educational programmes;

The role of interdisciplinarity in teaching history;

The status of humanities in the context of debates on the reconfiguration of curricular areas;

The destiny of representative educational buildings from the perspective of the preocupations for heritage preservation.



June 1, 2022 (title of the study / article, preferably in English, a summary of up to 300 words and a short biographical note); in the case of the works proposed for review, it is necessary to mention only the author and the title of the book (more recent works, published in the recent years, by authors from Romania or abroad);

June 30, 2022 (evaluation of proposals and submission of confirmation of acceptance);

September 15, 2022 (submission of final texts of studies / articles and reviews, preferably written in English, totaling no more than 10,000 words for the studies/articles, including footnotes, and 2,500 words for the reviews; the article or the study will be accompanied by the agreement form);

November 1, 2022 (completion of peer review and proofreading processes);

December 15, 2022 (publication of the volume).
