Dear colleagues,

The first volume of Russian Literature (87/88/89) of the year is out -- a 420-page thematic issue on politics and/in Russian and East European poetry, guest edited by Dennis Ioffe and Evgeny Pavlov, during and after Communism. Contributors include Vitaly Chernetsky, Mark Lipovetsky, and Stephanie Sandler, among many others; and the analyses tackle poetry and politics in the writings of Russian classics (Pushkin, Khlebnikov, Kharms), as well as a range of influential late Soviet, post-Soviet, and contemporary poets (Polina Barskova, Dmitry Bykov, Elena Fanailova, Kirill Medvedev, and Dmitrii Prigov, among others).
