Mammoth Cave National Park Created

Environmental degredation due to logging and falling visitation numbers mobilized the public near Mammoth Cave to petition for national park status. Multiple bills were introduced over the course of several years, with one finally being passed and signed into law by President Calvin Coolidge. It was officially dedicated and opened fifteen years later.
