Deadline Approaching for AJHA Blanchard Prize

The deadline for submitting nominees for the 2018 AJHA Margaret A. Blanchard Doctoral Dissertation Prize is Feb. 1.

Eligible works shall include both quantitative and qualitative historical dissertations, written in English, which have been completed between Jan. 1, 2017, and Dec. 31, 2017. For the purposes of this award, a "completed" work is defined as one which has not only been submitted and defended but also revised and filed in final form at the applicable doctoral-degree-granting university by Dec. 31, 2017.

Fellowship from the New York Public Library Opportunity

I came across this fellowship opportunity from the New York Public Library that I thought might be of interested to J-History subscribers. The deadline is February 15.

The New York Public Library is pleased to offer short-term research fellowships to support graduate-level, post-doctoral, and independent researchers.  Individuals needing to conduct on-site research in the Library’s special collections to support projects in the humanities, business, and the fine and performing arts are encouraged to apply.

Deadline Tomorrow January 4 for Submissions: Joint Journalism and Communication History Conference

Just a reminder that the deadline is tomorrow January  for submitting an abstract to the Joint Journalism and Communication History conference. I have been attending this conference for around 20 years and it is one of my favorites (actually it is my favorite).  The conference itself will be at NYU on Saturday March 10.
