For the Arab Spring, you may want to look at the book described below.  Revolution and revolt feature periodically in longer pieces of Middle Eastern autobiographical writing from the 19th and 20th centuries -- offhand I cannot think of any that focus primarily on revolution (and only some are translated, of course). 

The Flow of Ideas Through the Suez Canal

The Suez Canal is arguably one of the most important man-made waterways in the world. Its geographic location drastically reduces the travel time for goods and people by forgoing navigation around the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa, and in 2013, nearly 15,660 ships traveled through the Canal with 99 different flags represented (http://www.suezcanal.gov.eg/Files/Publications/101.pdf).
