H-Utopia, like the 25-year-old Society for Utopian Studies, is devoted to discussion of utopianism in all its forms, from literary expression to policy analysis to architectural criticism to activism. Our focus is on the forms, contents, and influence of utopian/dystopian thinking.

Joanna Russ Query

Dear all,

Please send replies to lyman.sargent@umsl.edu regarding the query below.

Does anyone know who Joanna Russ’s literary executor is and how to get in touch? Her old agent no longer lists her as a client.
Greg Claeys and I are preparing a new edition of The Utopian Reader, and we would like to use one of her stories.

SUS 2014 Roommate wanted

Female Roommate Wanted for Society for Utopian Studies Conference, October 23-26.  Nonsmoking room with double beds at the conference hotel (Delta Montreal) already booked for all four nights of the conference.  Total cost for room is $145 CAD a night (plus surcharges and taxes), to be split down the middle. I also booked an (optional) extra night on the 21st, as I wanted to explore the city before the conference.
