Dear colleage,
Regarding to your question related to how change come about within socialist movements, I am currently working on the emotional dimension of the process. Indeed, the so called "emotional turn" give us as a historians new and interesting responses on how the political change has come.
I would recomend you this last article regarding to the making of working class in Spain, focused on the socialist case. Hope it can be useful for you!
