Welcome to H-SHGAPE, the online forum of the Society for Historians of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era and one of the founding networks on H-NET. H-SHGAPE seeks to encourage the study of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era through its network and online resources.

Reminder: SHGAPE is soliciting submissions for our Graduate Student Essay Prize. The Graduate Student Essay prize is awarded annually for the best article of journal article length written by a graduate student on a Gilded Age and/or Progressive Era topic. The winner of the prize will receive $250, and the winning essay will be considered for publication in the Journal of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era.
Essays should not be previously published or under consideration for publication. Applicants must be SHGAPE members at the time of submission.
