CFP for 2018 SAWH Conference

I hope to organize a panel for the 2018 SAWH Conference scheduled for June 7-10, 2018 at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. The tentative title for the panel is “Power through Print: Periodical Production and Consumption.” My paper will deal with the women contributors to the AME Church Review, the quarterly publication of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Other papers might consider women’s involvement in either periodical production or consumption as vehicles for expressing resistance or claiming rights.
