The 21st Cambridge Heritage Symposium looks at heritage and the processes of heritagisation through the prism of materiality: the concept whereby material culture plays an active role, both being shaped by and shaping the ways object, places and practice become cultural heritage. Legal Diversity and Regional Encounters:
An interdisciplinary conference sponsored by the journal Kritika and the Harriman Institute of Columbia University, to be held at the Harriman in New York City, May 2021.
What do we mean by diversity and inclusion within the context of Central Asian, Russian and Eastern European Studies (CAREES) publishing? How can we encourage and ensure inclusivity within research outputs in our field? What barriers need to be deconstructed in order to represent diverse voices? These are the guiding questions behind an upcoming roundtable event at the British Association for Slavonic and East European Studies (BASEES) Annual Conference in Cambridge, UK, from 3rd-5th April 2020.
Thanks to a grant from the US-Russia Foundation, the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies is sponsoring grants with stipends of up to $6,000 for the purposes of conducting graduate research related to the rule of law, governance, economy, business, and civil society in Russia. These grants are intended to provide opportunities for young scholars to make connections with Russian peers and senior specialists, promoting long-term professional relations, and to foster the next generation of Russia experts.
