Re: Research - What is (a) Jockey Hollow?

Not a direct answer, but a couple of stories behind the name for places in PA and NY with the same appelation, from 19th century workks digitized in Google Books. I was hoping to find something there from one of the old County History books. Maybe I can get to the hard copies a little later.

Research - What is (a) Jockey Hollow?

Always crowdsourcing, and a big fan of the scholars in this group and their knowledge. After the launch of the 90th anniversary of the National Park Service's Morristown National Historical Park, I was amazed to hear that there is no clear understanding of the origins and name "Jockey Hollow."

I've crowdsourced the question to the internet via a story https://www.mrlocalhistory.org/what-is-a-jockey-hollow/
