H-NEAsia focuses on transnational issues involving the peoples of northeast China, Japan, Korea, Mongolia, and eastern Russia. Its goals are to aid communication and collaboration regarding research across this area and to provide an outlet for relevant book reviews.

2014 Abe Fellowship Competition - Deadline: Sept. 1, 5PM (EST)

The Abe Fellowship is designed to encourage international multidisciplinary research on topics of pressing global concern. The Abe Fellowship Program seeks to foster the development of a new generation of researchers who are interested in policy-relevant topics of long-range importance and who are willing to become key members of a bilateral and global research network built around such topics.

Applicants are invited to submit proposals for research in the social sciences and related fields relevant to any of the following three themes:

Dear Colleagues: 
It would be our dream to make Osaka University a kind of "hub" for international research on Asia-Pacific studies, especially in the social sciences. In the age of the internet, we still place great emphasis on face-to-face discussions and so I am looking to apply for funding to invite scholars outside Japan who are working on any aspect of Asia-Pacific studies in the social sciences.
