Re: Request: Courses and readings on Women in the Military and Women and War?

Hi Therese

I am not sure if this would be of value to yiou, but my book "Birth, Sex and Abuse: Women's Voices under Nazi Rule" (Grosvenor House, 2015) Describes in detail the experiences of women (both German and Jewish) regarding their reproductive life (childbirth and sexual behaviour) from 1933 to 1945.

This book has won multiple awards in History, Women's Studies, and Holocaust studies.. It is available from many booksellers in paperback and on Kindle.

Let me know if you would like any further information

Sincerely

Re: Request: Courses and readings on Women in the Military and Women and War?

Hi, Theresa,
While I haven't put a class together on either women in the military or women and war, I have co-authored two books(with Paula Calvin) on women, war and art - American Women Artists in Wartime, 1776-2010 and War Imagery in Women's Textiles. Both look at ways in which women respond to war through art. The first contains a chapter on war art produced by military women, including the 4 women combat artists.
