Roundtable on Teaching the Maritime

I am assembling a roundtable on teaching the maritime for the 2018 meeting of the North American Society for Oceanic History, which will be held May 20-23 in St Charles, Missouri.  Given this year's focus on inland waterways, I'd love for the roundtable to look at "Teaching Maritime from the Middle," or in other words, how to pitch and teach maritime topics/courses at land-locked institutions.  My intention is to assemble a group of scholars from a variety of disciplines, backgrounds, institutions, chronological/geographical
