The Southern Jewish Historical Society is holding its 47th annual conference from October 20-22, 2023, in Houston, Texas.
H-Louisiana is sponsored by the Louisiana Historical Association. The purpose of the network is to facilitate communication and the exchange of scholarly and pedagogical ideas and digital projects among researchers, teachers, scholars, advanced students, and related professionals (e.g. local historians, librarians, archivists, genealogists) interested in Louisiana history as well as those who work in Louisiana.

The Hugh F. Rankin Prize is awarded each year to the graduate student in history who submits the best unpublished article-length essay in Louisiana history or a related topic.
This prize honors Dr. Hugh F. Rankin (1913-1989), longtime LHA member and mentor to many current LHA members. Rankin, a WWII veteran, was a member of the History Department of Tulane University from 1957 until 1983. He was especially noted for his work with graduate students and for his service to the Southern Historical Association.
