Boston Area Seminar on Early American History at the Massachusetts Historical Society
On Friday, October 26, 2018, at the Newberry Library in Chicago, the Symposium on Comparative Early Modern Legal History will be presenting a conference on “Arguing for the Rule of Law: Using the Hebrew Bible and Caricatures of Foreigners in British and Spanish America.”
This panel seeks to examine utopian representations of (neo)liberalism in 20th century literature and culture, emphasizing comparative connections to (neo)liberal political philosophy and economic theory. The American Comparative Literature Association Conference will take place at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. March 7-10.
