H-French-Colonial encourages discussions of research interests, teaching methods, and historiography.
We are looking for editors and contributors to join the H-French-Colonial team. For information about the available opportunities please see our announcement.
We’re looking for some new editors to run H-French-Colonial. I’ve done what I can to hold down the ship but we’d like to get the position filled with a team of people who know the field much better than I.

For a conference paper I am preparing, I am looking for citations for (published) primary and secondary sources on Syro-Lebanese employees of the French Mandate in Syria and Lebanon. I realize that the principal archival sources on this topic are in the MAE archives at Nantes, but unfortunately I will be unable to go there before I need to complete the paper. Nevertheless, if anyone can point me to the correct fonds to investigate when I do have occasion to go, I’d appreciate help with that as well.
