On July 1, 2015, H-Net Executive Council voted to de-commission H-ECAI, effectively removing it from H-Net. H-ECAI was established in 2004 but has been inactive since 2011. Rather than attempt to revive a long dormant network, H-Net Council suggests members of H-ECAI’s community of humanists, historians, cultural heritage managers, librarians, and curators, as well as information technology researchers with specialties in GIS, information retrieval, and networking will be interested in some of H-Net’s other larger and far more active networks. These include H-DigiRhet with its focus on computer-mediated communication, information and communication technologies, H-Digital-History for historians in the digital humanities, and H-HistGeog for geographers, historians, and all others interested in the intricate relationship between space and time.

Questions about this decommissioned network can be directed to Patrick Cox at VP-Net@mail.h-net.msu.edu.
