Committee of 100 Vision Awards Deadline Extended Through June 1, 2017

Washington, D.C.-- The Committee of 100 on the Federal City is now accepting nominations for its 16th annual Vision Awards.  These awards are given each year to honor projects, plans, people, and organizations for innovations in planning, land use, and preservation that are visionary, innovative, and provide a notable benefit to the District of Columbia.  

May 27, 2017 "Remembering" Event - Walter Pierce Park

Dear Friends of the African American and Quaker cemeteries at Walter Pierce Park in Adams Morgan, DC:

Descendants and caring community members will gather at Walter Pierce Park on SATURDAY, MAY 27, 2017, at 11 A.M., to commemorate the 8,500 Washingtonians buried there, in our annual "Saying their names, telling their stories" event. Readers and listeners are needed! As always, refreshments will follow.

We hope you'll be able to spend part of your Memorial Day Weekend honoring our forebears, as we continue to make sure their resting place isn't forgotten.
