The historical role of the Ottoman Empire as a sea power is still an understudied subject, despite a vast array of narrative and archival sources. Therefore, drawing on a variety of Ottoman and European sources, this panel aims to explore different dimensions of Ottoman maritime history covering the very early period of Ottoman rule (14th century) until the 18th Century both on the Mediterranean and Black Seas.

National Biblical Catechetical and Liturgical Centre (NBCLC), networking with esteemed institutions of higher education in Bengaluru, plans to organise a research seminar on 07-08 August 2023. The theme of the seminar is 'Religion & Society in India: Contemporary Multi-Disciplinary Explorations'. NBCLC invites Call for Papers from students, research scholars and faculty for this seminar.

The Department of History of Lingnan University (Hong Kong) is pleased to continue its Distinguished Speaker Series this year 2022/23. The theme this year is the history of the Pacific World. For our next seminar, we're delighted to host Professor Chris Suh of Emory University. He will be speaking on "Seeing Race beyond the Color Line: Rethinking US Empire and Asian Exclusion in the Early 20th Century".
