The Department of Gender, Sexuality, and Intersectionality Studies at Connecticut College invites applications for a visiting assistant professor. We are seeking a scholar with expertise in trans studies, mixed race studies, disability studies, and/or transnational LGBTQ studies. Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience teaching in gender and women’s studies or related fields including feminist and queer theory as well as social justice activism.

While it may first be thought of as a space of stagnation, the swamp is also a transition zone. A space in which water and land merge, swamps have long represented an area in which the earth resists being controlled, and have functioned as areas of resistance in many Indigenous epistemes and folklores. Swamps, then, are areas that resist human control, and epitomise agency of the natural world, doing so too on a conceptual level.

Call for Applications: Toshiba International Foundation Fellowships 2023/24
With this Call for Papers, we cordially invite doctoral candidates conducting Japan-related research to apply for the Toshiba International Foundation Fellowships 2023/24.
The Toshiba International Foundation Fellowship program conducted jointly by the European Association for Japanese Studies (EAJS) and the Toshiba International Foundation (TIFO) supports doctoral candidates in carrying out research in Japan. Applications are reviewed by the EAJS Council.
We invite graduate students, postdoctoral researchers and senior scholars to submit proposals for an international conference titled “Fluid Landscape: Spatial Politics in the North Adriatic Area and Other European Borderlands during and after World War II”. The conference will take place on the 18th of April 2022 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, at the premises of the Study Centre for National Reconciliation (Tivolska 42, 1000 Ljubljana).
