This proposed panel will bring together papers that concern the relation between the social sciences and the history of human rights. The recent historiography on human rights, especially since ca. 2010, has partly developed in dialogue with literature from the social sciences, which already focused on the subject of human rights earlier on.
The Oak Spring Garden Foundation (former estate of Paul and Rachel Mellon near the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia) is offering a residential short course on "Writing the Landscape" from October 7-11, 2024. The seminar will be taught by Gretchen E.

As the GSA’s chief financial officer, the Treasurer is responsible for the Association’s financial well-being. Ghand-e Parsi has designed courses based on the experience of teaching the Persian language to a multitude of undergraduate and graduate students as well as researchers and academicians. Ghand-e Parsi courses focus on independent research and the practical use of Persian at the university level. Through Ghand-e Parsi, students and researchers familiarize themselves with the social and cultural context of Persian texts and digital humanities tools. They develop their language abilities to facilitate independent research and reading as soon as possible.
