In this panel/ round table we invite early career scholars and senior scholars who wish to look at various aspects of understanding the lives and afterlives of the princely states of South Asia.
Pseudomorphism, a term introduced to art history by Erwin Panofsky in 1964, refers to the ostensible similarity between two works of art that actually emerge from distinct historical and artistic lineages. More recently, Yve-Alain Bois tried to revive the notion for the study of modern and contemporary art, while Pamela Lee’s work shows how the phenomena is becoming increasingly widespread, putting forth ‘a transhistorical, and perhaps transdisciplinary, agenda in the process’.
Where is the Cognitive Turn Today? (NeMLA '24, Boston MA, March 7-10, 2024)
OpenPhilately, new open access journal, hosted at the James E. Walker Library, Middle Tennessee State University,is seeking volunteers to serve on its editorial board. OpenPhilately just published its first issue and aims to publish quarterly. Experience with or an interest in philately and postal history is helpful, but not required. Length of term is flexible.
