I am looking for an author to write a 5,000-6,000 word essay on Elizabeth Monroe as a Southern First Lady, based on original research, for an anthology I am editing.  We have a publisher already for our volume, and all the other Southern first ladies are covered in chapters by a range of both prominent and emerging scholars; we just need your chapter to round out our volume!  You would need to be able to finish this by the end of August, 2017, with perhaps a couple of weeks flexibility thereafter if needed.

The aim of the third edition of The Left Conference, Photography and Film is to debate the use of photographs and film from a leftist stance. In particular, to critical examine and explore the relation of documentary practices with political commitment in different historical circumstances throughout the twentieth century and the early twenty first century.

The seminar/conference together will take place at the Faculty of Belas Artes of the University of Lisbon on the 9th and 10th November 2018.
