Seeking one to two collaborators on a panel that will explore the relationship between depictions of black childhood and the iteration of a poetics or politic of space. Currently, we plan to discuss as primary texts His Own Where by June Jordan, Another Brooklyn and Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson and the films Moonlight (2016) and Dayveon (2017). We welcome additional texts or angles on these texts from historical, theoretical, or social justice perspectives.
