The School for Advanced Research is now accepting nominations for the $10,000 J.I. Staley Prize.
The GHI awards short-term fellowships to European and North American doctoral students as well as postdoctoral scholars to pursue research projects that draw upon primary sources located in the United States. We are particularly interested in research projects that fit into the following fields: German and European history, the history of German-American relations, and the role of Germany and the USA in international relations. These fellowships are also available to European doctoral students and postdoctoral scholars in the field of American history.
The International Convention of Asian Scholars has become the largest gathering of its kind in the world. ICAS 10 will be held in Chang Mai (Thailand) from 20-23 July 2017. As a part of this Convention there will be - in addition to Awards and Accolades for the Best Book in Asian Studies in the two categories of Humanities and Social Sciences - Awards and Accolades for the Best Ph.D Dissertation in Asian Studies awarded in each category. We encourage candidates from all countries whose dissertation is in the English language to enter this competition.
