I am looking for participants for a 3-4 person panel that focuses on the relationships of culture and power in agricultural history. Of particular interest is work that emphasizes the interconnectivity of urban and rual environments, illustrating the political tensions among bureaucrats and locals where urban policies are seen taking shape in rural environments. Papers on infrastructure, technology, social concerns, labor, and public health are welcome. Global perspectives are encouraged, and periodization is flexible.
