All other announcements are moderated as they come and are distributed to Daily Digest subscribers the following day.
Please note: Announcements are posted and distributed the same day they are moderated; however, daily digests are distributed the day after moderation. Network editors receive the H-Announce daily digest and choose relevant content to repost to their networks. To post an announcement directly to a specific network, you may select that network(s) in the post announcement interface. Applications for 2019 Summer Scholarships are now OPEN, and will CLOSE 30 September 2018.
Our annual summer scholarships support younger scholars and a scholar from rural or regional Australia undertaking postgraduate research, who require special access to the Library’s collections.
Scholars spend six weeks at the Library, commencing in the second week of January each year. They have privileged access to the Library’s materials and facilities, as well as sustained interaction with Library staff.
Members of the Library History Round Table of ALA created the Phyllis Dain Library History Dissertation Award to recognize outstanding work in our field by emerging library historians. The committee for the selection of the 2019 Dain Dissertation Award winner is seeking submissions by January 11, 2019.
The Journal of Science Fiction is accepting submissions for a special issue on disability studies and science fiction to be released on January 31, 2019.
We are pleased to announce a CFP for submissions to the 4.2 edition of The Phoenix Papers, an open access, peer-reviewed journal of fandom and neomedia studies. Acceptance for publication in this edition will also make the author eligible to present at #FANS7 , 9-10 June 2019, in Ft. Worth, TX.

The Society of Global Scholars is proud to announce it's 3rd conference, Transgressing Fortified Borders, to be held at the University of California, Santa Barbara February 22nd and 23rd, 2019. This free graduate student-run conference looks to broaden the fields of inquiry in Global Studies while providing a platform for underrepresented perspectives. We are now accepting 150-200 word abstracts by October 1st, 2018 on topics engaging in the exploration and/or disruption of imposed local and global borders . Graduate and Undergraduate Students are welcome to submit.
