The International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS) will hold its thirteenth meeting in Brisbane on 9 – 13 July 2017, at the St Lucia campus of The University of Queensland. The conference is jointed hosted by the T.C. Beirne School of Law and the Asia Pacific Centre for the Responsibility to Protect.
The conference theme is “Justice and the Prevention of Genocide”.

CFP for NeMLA 2017, Baltimore March 23rd-26th: The first-year writing seminar is a course that fulfills many goals of transitioning students to college-level writing, reading, and discussion. It is one of the first places that students grapple with those “structures of feeling” that gather around social identity and difference. This panel seeks papers that explore pedagogical approaches to affect and social identity in the writing classroom. What approaches help students struggle to write across the gap between feelings, social identity, and analysis?
The Oxford English Dictionary defines nutrition as: "the process of providing or obtaining the food necessary for health and growth." As such, nutrition inevitably finds its way into food history, and historiography. This special issue of Global Food History: “From Nourishment to Nutrition” focuses on the histories of dietary advice and will include histories of food as: nourishment for mind and body, a vehicle for essential nutrients, a tool of public policy, and everything in between.
