Precious objects, and jewelry in particular, have generated repeated and echoed reactions over the centuries and across the globe, despite variations in context and location.

Women in Academia Support Network Conference (WIASN)  exists to promote gender equity both withinin Higher Education as well as across the wider, Research and Innovation sector. 

WIASN’s inaugural conference ‘Virtually Undisciplined’ was held over two days in 2022, welcoming 54 speakers from 35 organisations. It had 400 registered ticket holders, but it was also and was live streamed to an additional 14,000 members with an additional 400 ticket holders. We welcomed 54 speakers from 35 organisations.

The New England American Studies Association is currently seeking submissions for our Summer 2024 conference “Revisiting Region: Locating the “Where” in American Studies” to be held at Harvard University, June 21-22, 2024.

Johns Hopkins University invites submissions to the fifth annual Richard Macksey National Undergraduate Humanities Research Symposium. The Macksey Symposium brings together undergraduate students from across the country to present their humanities and interdisciplinary research to a national audience. This year’s symposium will be held from March 21-23, on the Johns Hopkins Homewood campus in Baltimore, Maryland. Submissions (in the form of a title and abstract) are due by December 8, 2023.
