The Department of History at Bates College invites papers on the topic of gender and migration to and/or within the United States since 1900. Presentations will be part of a day-long graduate symposium showcasing the work of emerging scholars (recent PhD or ABD) from historically underrepresented groups. (Individuals from underrepresented groups include such US citizens as African Americans, Alaska Natives, Arab Americans, Asian Americans, Latinz, Native Americans, Native Hawaiians, and other Pacific Islanders.)
