This special issue of Biography explores biographic mediation as a tool to manage political and administrative claims. Biographic mediation refers to any institutional demand for personal disclosure to make decisions about who gets what and why, alongside public critiques and calls to action that feature personal narratives.
The Mid-America Theatre Conference is pleased to offer a workshop at the 2018 conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (March 15-18) for scholars and practitioners developing book proposals in the areas of theatre history, performance, pedagogy, theory, and/or practice. The session is an interactive book proposal and pitch workshop for pre-selected participants. Book editors will offer participants suggestions for improving their book proposals and pitches, as well as strategies for submitting their proposals to book publishers.
The Mid-America Theatre Conference is pleased to offer a pair of workshops at the 2018 conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (March 15-18) for scholars and practitioners on articles in areas of theatre history, performance, pedagogy, theory, and/or practice. These workshops will offer participants the opportunity to meet in a closed session with journal editors who have read their work in advance and who will offer suggestions for improvement as well as strategies for submitting to academic journals.

Short-term fellowships are awarded for one or more months, and open to academics from any country, subject to selection by committee. Successful applicants will be working on Jefferson-related projects. Priority is given to Jefferson-related projects using the Digital Archeological Archive of Comparative Slavery or Getting Word.

Call for Applications: Visiting Fellowships 2018/19
The Center for the History of Global Development at Shanghai University invites applications for fellowships for visiting scholars working on projects related to the history of policies, concepts, practices or debates related to development on local, national, regional or global levels.
The Nancy Weiss Malkiel Scholars Award is supported by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and administered by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation. The Malkiel Scholars Award offers a $17,500 stipend—$10,000 to be used for summer research support and $7,500 for research assistance during the academic year.
