Is America A Christian State?

A Moroccan-born Jewish relative of mine remarked that since America is a Christian state, why should Israel not be a Jewish state? At first I was a bit shocked, but then I thought about it.

Most persons would either point to a Judeo-Christian heritage that is responsible for the Constitution, or they would point to the Establishment clause of the First Amendment, that demands religious pluralism. Re: Readings on Interwar Military Innovation (1919-1939)

I highly recommend David E. Johnson's Fast Tanks and Heavy Bombers: Innovation in the U.S. Army, 1917-1945 in any study of the WW1 to WW2 interwar period military development. In WWII, tens of thousands of American servicemen died due to failures in the development and use of tanks and the heavy bombers.
