Hi all,

Since 2010, I have overseen the blog Tropics of Meta with my co-editor Ryan Reft, a recent history PhD from the University of California San Diego.  The site has published the work of dozens of graduate students and faculty on subjects ranging from the origins of hipsterism to federal housing policy.  The site has a strong tilt toward urban history, but we've done pieces on the historical context of a wide range of music (indie, punk, hip-hop, metal), film, and television.  You can check out some of our work here:
