Frankfort's Women Suffrage Centennial Celebration group is planning to march in the Frankfort Christmas parade on December 8th - 7 p.m. They need people to carry banners. Any "Votes for Women" banners or sashes will do. Please contact Sylvia Coffey if interested (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The theme for the Frankfort Christmas Parade is "Saving Christmas!" Inclement weather date is Friday, December 15th.
The John L. Nau III Center for Civil War History at the University of Virginia invites nominations for the third Bobbie and John Nau Book Prize in American Civil War Era History. Titles published in 2017 will be eligible. The $25,000 prize focuses primarily on scholarship devoted to the war itself but is also open to works on the background and consequences of the conflict. Collections of essays or primary documents, works of fiction, and poetry should not be submitted.
