Come and explore the remarkably understudied stories of how women in the Americas achieved the suffrage. Seventeen specialists from Argentina to Canada will each present a piece of the interconnecting pattern that led to suffrage extensions across the hemisphere. 

Call for Applicants: Massachusetts Historical Society Short-Term Fellowships, 2018-2019

Application deadline: March 1, 2018

Massachusetts Historical Society Short-term Fellowships carry a stipend of $2,000 to support four or more weeks of research in the MHS collections sometime between July 1, 2018, and June 30, 2019. Over twenty awards will be made, including two Ruth R. & Alyson R. Miller Fellowships to support research in women's history. Short-term fellowships are open to independent scholars, advanced graduate students, and holders of the Ph.D. or the equivalent.

Fellowships  

Special Collections at Smith College offer four fellowships. The Sophia Smith Collection and the Smith College Archives offer the Margaret Storrs Grierson, Friends of the Smith College Libraries, and Carel B. Germain Fellowships awarded in an annual competition. Scholars will hold awards of $2,500, intended to support research visits of four to six weeks.  One Mortimer Fellowship of $2,500 is awarded annually for research in the rare book collection.
