Possible AHA Panel on Complex Loyalties within the Worlds of Enslavement

Dear all,

Although late, I'm still hoping to recruit fellow scholars of slavery in both Africa and the African Diaspora for a panel that would revolve around the complexities of loyalties, alliances, community-building and survival in the worlds of slavery at the AHA 2019 in Chicago.

Seeking a panelist for the AHA Annual Meeting: Empires, Peasant Mobility and State Reforms, 1750-1850

Dear All,

We are a panel of two PhD students in history looking for a third to complete our panel for AHA 2019. Our presentations are about the Russian and Ottoman empires in 1750-1850, and we hope to find an individual with similar interests in population control, mobility, peasantry, etc. in any other state or region.

If interested, please let us know as soon as possible.

Seeking panelists for AHA 2019 panel of co-authored papers by scholars from different fields

For AHA 2019, we warmly welcome proposals of co-authored papers by scholars hailing from different fields, whether geographically, chronologically, or thematically defined. The panel aims to explore the methodological challenges and possibilities of scholars working across intra-disciplinary lines. For instance, our paper draws on our respective specializations in Eastern European political history and early US cultural history to examine Polish insurrectionists expatriated in the US in the 1830s and 1840s.
