Call For Panelist: SHEAR 2014

My name is Cho-Chien Feng, a PhD student at Saint Louis University. I am putting together a panel on the impact of British culture on revolutionary America. I am working on the Loyalist political concept of liberty in revolutionary New York. For this panel, I will write a paper to elucidate the loyalist idea of liberty based on newspaper material and pamphlets, and thus provide a different viewpoint of liberty in the age of the American Revolution.

Graduate Programs

I am an undergraduate history major at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas and I am looking for some suggestions on good graduate programs in Colonial America and/or the Early Republic. I would prefer to go to a program in the American South, but I am open to other locations.

Primary source for teaching spread of sport to Africa

I would like to add a short primary source reading in my History of Sport class which addresses the spread of sport in Africa, particularly during British imperialism.  If there is a missionary report published in a newspaper that is easy to access (or reproduced in a book), that would be great.  Any other related suggestions would be most welcome.

Thanks!

Seeking Panel: SHEAR 2014

Hello all,

My name is Bruce Spadaccini and I am currently an MA student in need of a spot on a panel for a paper I'd like to present at next year's SHEAR conference. As the submission deadline is fast approaching, I'm hoping to merely fill an open spot on an existing panel.
