Since 2014, the Russian military aggression against Ukraine has been responsible for extensive destruction of cultural heritage. According to experts, Ukraine’s losses in this sphere are the most severe since the Second World War. At the same time, the Russian-Ukrainian War has triggered a rethinking of the cultural heritage of Ukrainian cities.
Obituary: Douglas Wheeler, historian of Angola and Portugal, (1937-2022)
I am sorry to share the news that our colleague, Douglas Wheeler, has passed away from heart failure. Doug was an early supporter of the Lusophone African Studies Organization, a longtime subscriber to our network, and was always generous with his knowledge and a pleasure to spend time with.
