Arches National Park Created

The Arches National Park was originally established as a national monument in 1929 by a presidential proclamation from Herbert Hoover. Nearby lands were continually added, especially under President Lyndon B. Johnson. Two years after the additions, President Richard Nixon signed the act to protect a smaller portion of land as a National Park.
