Portrait of Alice Tribble Karr (24 May 1881 - 15 July 1972), a mathematics instructor at Transylvania University, then Dean of Hamilton College by 1920. Transylvania was no longer a University by 1915 since it contained only the College of Liberal Arts. In 1923 Karr was also chairman of the Hamilton College Athletic Association. A few years before Hamilton closed in 1932, Karr began teaching mathematics at Henry Clay High School in Lexington from which she retired.
